OUR HISTORY

Singapore Amateur Boxing Association (SABA) was founded on 21st March 1929 – during the post World War I period in the 1920’s. As of 2022, the association rebranded itself and is now known as Singapore Boxing Federation (SBF) and is registered with the Registry of Societies. It is recognized by Sport Singapore (Singapore Sports Council) as the National governing body for the promotion and development of the sport of boxing in Singapore.

SBF is affiliated to the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) and International Boxing Association (IBA). The SBF is a recognized Charity organization as well. Among many other things, SBF is responsible for the registration of competitive boxers, sanctioning of local boxing events, and to ensure compliance with IBA international guidelines in competitions while maintaining the safety and professionalism of the sport.

Our Primary Mandate from 2022 to 2026

Expand focus and address concerns of the boxing community.
Develop and manage outreach channels while growing participation at different focused levels.
Contribute towards a safe and professional boxing culture.
Organise local competitive competitions, leisure and community boxing events to promote broad-based participation.
Identify talents and groom them to participate in Major Games representing Singapore while ensuring a fair and just selection within the athlete pathway.
